Help Feed Families in Guatemala

What is all of this about? Here's the original video in case you missed it...

And if you're wondering how we know these families...

These are families we met and became friends with during our travels in 2018/2019.
For more about that trip, check out the rest of this site… especially the About page and the Blog!

Thank you!

Together we raised

$2,020

to help feed families in Guatemala during the COVID crisis!

Donations for Sam’s bike ride are now closed, but if you would still like to help hungry families in rural Guatemala, there are a couple of options:

The friends we helped live in San Pedro La Laguna, and some of them are part of a women’s co-operative that hand-crafts and sells woven articles. A number of the women in this co-op live in San Juan La Laguna, a neighboring town. Because of COVID travel restrictions, we were unable to reach them in San Juan with groceries (we focused on families in San Pedro), so they are doing their own fundraising through a friend in BC (which looks a little different than our own project :)). You can give directly to them here:

A second, more formal option (with tax receipts): You can also engage with and donate to Cultiva International.

We’ve seen first-hand the amazing work they do and support them as we are able to. They are also currently delivering food to families through the local fire department in Panajachel, across the lake from where our friends live.

Here are some photos and videos of the food being delivered!
